Voyage B.D.R. Bag
is this product competible with g line? electric g line?
Just came back of a 6 days trip with my Brompton, the Voyage Atlas front bag and this B.D.R. bag.
I use the BDR to store mainly bivouac stuff (Sleeping bag, mattress) and some clothes in the main compartment. I could still pack more buy putting the sleeping back into the elastic string outside. I tried it and it fit nicely.
Plenty of small pockets to store small accessories. Also small "loop" to attach different items (in my case solar panel battery while riding).
Was concerned by the stability of it while riding but it holds perfectly. Once fitted on the luggage rack and attached at the top of the seat post, it was perfect. There is an additional attachment for the bottom of the seat post if you want.
The pack bag "mode" is quite convenient once you fold your bike.
The only small downside is that it's a bit tricky to fix it on the luggage rack (Brompton not holding itself, not a lot of visibility). But after 6 days, I got the "feel" of it and it got better.
We’ve been using the 2 rucksacks & 4.0 bike bags for 2 weeks & have found the set up works very well. You can store all sorts securely. There’s lots of nick nak pockets on the sides of the rucksack. 🎒 there is one improvement that needs to be made, the female buckle on the interior compression straps. The buckle isn’t long enough, it needs a longer strap to hang outside the bag when packing. I found when packing it continually falls inside and gets buried, then it has to be dug out.
Quality very good, well designed eg inner bright orange so as ease finding item.
Base clip screw mount need improvement as long usage screw tends to loosen, too short n best hex head instead Phillip. Side should have some belt n fastener so as the tall bag don’t swing left/right when standing pedalling
Love:
- the compression straps internally
- the amount of storage, including the bungee cord system externally
- how it can convert to a backpack (very smart design by the way) and duffle bag
- the loops for bike lights and such
- how secure it is on the bike
- how easy it is to take on and off thanks to the uniklip system
- the amount of pockets
- the reflective aspects
- love that it works well with a regular folding bike like the Zizzo Liberte. I had been contemplating storage options on it for a while, and this is working super well. kind of a gamechanger honestly
Don't love:
- the materials it's made of (hard to find bags made of anything other than plastic nowadays, unfortunately)
- that one of the zipper's knots came unraveled so easily already, but not a big deal at all
